Gameplay directions
This word-guessing game is similar to the popular board game Taboo. The object of the game is to get your team member to guess different Christmas words within the 60-second time limit.
The clue giver must give verbal clues to their own team to get them to guess the holiday-related term without saying the prohibited words (taboo words). The target words are located at the top of the card, and the words that the clue giver must NOT say are printed underneath.
For example, the target word for the card below is “Santa Claus” and the words that the clue giver cannot say are listed below (“jolly, sleigh, sack, elves, reindeer”).
Someone from a different team can serve as a monitor to call out the clue giver if they use any of the prohibited words. If one of the taboo words is said, the clue giver must discard the card and end their turn.
The team gets a point for each correct guess. As soon as the correct word is guessed, the clue giver can pick up another card and continue playing until the timer runs out.
