These are some of my favorite spooky stories for older kids (probably best for 8+). These widely popular series are incredibly entertaining and make excellent Halloween books for kids.
Goosebumps (Series 1)
I remember reading these as a kid and they were so fun (and a little scary at the time), but they were definitely entertaining. If your child is a fan of the creepy and spooky, they will love the Goosebumps series and Halloween is the perfect time to start reading these! This is the first series of 10 books, but there are MANY more Goosebumps books to enjoy. You won’t have to encourage your kids to read these because they won’t want to stop!
